Working Together Webinars 2021 Series

Welcome to a unique opportunity to find a new pool of potential employees with a diversity of skills who are eager, loyal and committed to succeeding in a competitive, integrated workforce. Working Together is a campaign to create inclusive employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and to provide businesses and employers “how to” strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining these employees in an inclusive work environment.

The Working Together campaign is hosting a series of online webinars, one in each of the 10 Louisiana Department of Health regions. Webinars will be customized for each region and presented by:

  • Gordon O’Neill, Working Together Campaign Coordinator and founder of O’Neill Communications which specializes in disability advocacy and issues
  • Jeff Arseneaux, Inclusive Employment Consultant, Entrepreneur with 30 years management and distribution experience and recipient of Governor Jon Bel Edwards’ 2019 Ken Vince Memorial Award

The standardized, core curriculum is structured to provide step-by-step planning and implementation strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining employees with developmental disabilities. The content for each webinar is being customized for each specific market with the help of the local chambers of commerce and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapters. Participants will receive a 24 page downloadable booklet for future reference and receive access to a wide variety of supportive resources. The program will conclude with Q&A session hosted by local area experts and state agency representatives.
